Don't panic if you accidentally delete a whole paragraph of text, simply click undo and the system will undo your action. Vice-versa for redo.

You probably won't want to mess around with these two unless you have some knowledge of HTML, the code in which your web pages are written.

Special symbols in web pages should always be properly inserted. Essentially, just putting a symbol onto the page could mean your browser doesn't understand what it is and you may get some odd looking text appear where the browser has attempted to read what you have typed.
If the symbol is on your keyboard, this system will automatically insert the correct code, e.g. £, & and so on. For all other unusual symbols you should use the custom characters button to insert the symbol correctly.

is a horizontal ruler.

Removes formatting such as bold and text colours from blocks of text.

For example, after inserting a table, you will be able to see a dotted outline signifying the edges of the cells. They will not be visible on the actual web page, they are simply guidelines. The toggle button switches them on and off.

Toggles the spellchecker on and off. When the spellchecker is on, any possibly spelling errors will be underlined in red. Clicking onto the word will produce a list of possible replacements. Simply select the one you want.
NB: The spellchecker uses the remote Google service GoogleSpell. This service might be unavailable if google decides to make it non public. Although we will endeavour to keep this feature, we hold can no responsibility for any break of service.
