Consider this ...
... you want to apply a border around all the images in your website, just as we have. You could specify the settings when you insert each image but then you decide you wish to change the thickness of the border or the colour. You would have to edit each and every one you have previously set.
Instead, wouldn't it be handy if the thickness and colour were preset in just one central place? You could change this and all the borders on all the images would change.
Great isn't it! It also keeps the code on your web page much simpler and is better web design practice.
In order to make this work, you would need to:
In this website, our preset for the image border is 1 pixel thick in black. So all we need to do now is set the class for each image we insert.
Highlight the image and click the attributes button to open this window:

You'll notice the drop down box next to class, the default setting will be -- not set -- and you guessed it, we are simply going to edit that one field. Drop the box down and we will have placed the relevant option in the list for you.
Click insert and its as easy as that! Now, if you wish to change the border settings, every image you have assigned the class to, will change accordingly.
We have used just one example of a class here in order to apply a uniform look to all our images. Class can be applied to blocks of text as well as images. Please contact us for more information or to have classes preset into your website. We can do this at any time, it doesn't have to be done during the design of your site.
